Gait analysis requires a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to collect, process and interpret different types of data.
Our Operational Leads ensure the service runs smoothly. They are Clinical Scientists who coordinate our workload, manage service development projects and deal with (research) requests.
All our reports are discussed with our Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons at multidisciplinary team meetings. Combined, they have over 50 years' experience in translating our complex data into surgical or conservative treatment recommendations.
Our Physiotherapists are the main point of contact for patients during their appointments. They go over the patient's clinical history, perform a physical examination, and guide the patient through the data collection process.
Once the data have been processed by our engineers, they will review them and prepare a report for the multidisciplinary team meeting.
Our Clinical Scientists and Technologists collect and process data during and after patient appointments, ensure all our equipment is in in good working order and drive new developments in the lab.
A common tool to improve gait is the use of splints, such as an ankle foot orthosis (AFO). An Orthotist joins us at our meetings to advise on the use of splints.
Our Support and Administration Team plans all our clinics, responds to patient requests and assists during clinics where possible.
