Referral information

Referrals from outside the Trust must come from a Consultant.

Other health professionals may refer in the first instance to one of the Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons at at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, indicating that gait analysis is requested.

Appropriate patients

If you are unsure as to the suitability of your patient for gait analysis, please contact us and we will be happy offer advice.

How to refer

Please contact Oxford Gait Laboratory with relevant details about the patient.

The following information is required for a referral to the Oxford Gait Laboratory:

  • Patient name and address
  • Patient date of birth
  • NHS and MRN Numbers
  • Diagnosis
  • Name of referrer
  • Date of referral
  • Reason for referral (and question to be answered if known)

We have a number of contracts with primary care organisations around the UK. If your patient is registered with a GP associated with one of these, we can arrange an appointment for them within two to three weeks.

If not, we will need to contact their primary care organisation and agree funding before arranging an appointment.
