Mr Constantinos Loizou

Mr Loizou ('Con') is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford with a specialist interest in elective conditions of the adult foot and ankle, the diabetic foot and he is a team member of the Bone Infection Unit. He also has an interest in foot and ankle ultrasound and he is CASE accredited.

He qualified from the University of Cambridge and undertook his specialist training at the East of England. He is fellowship trained in adult foot and ankle surgery, having spent a year at Oxford and six months in Melbourne, Australia.

In 2015 he won the Chang Chen Prize for best podium presentation at the BOFAS annual scientific meeting. He has a basic science background having studied molecular and cell biology at the University of Bath and gained a PhD in clinical biochemistry from the University of Cambridge.

He is also a GMC recognised educational supervisor for the Oxford Deanery trauma and orthopaedic specialty trainees.

Mr Rick Brown

Mr Rick Brown

Rick Brown graduated from the University of Cambridge and King's College Hospital, London, before completing orthopaedic training on the Middlesex and Stanmore Rotation, London and then fellowships in Sydney and Harvard, USA.

After appointment as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2004, he established the new Foot and Ankle service in Cheltenham and ran a regional paediatric foot clinic at Bristol Children's Hospital.

His interest in education led to serving two terns on the BOFAS Education committee, where he is now Chairman.

He is a Lead Examiner for the FRCS (Tr&Orth). In 2016 he was appointed as a consultant in the Foot and Ankle team at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford, where his practice covers all areas of foot and ankle surgery including sports injuries, neurological conditions, complex forefoot pathology, arthritis and young adult problems.
