Oxfordshire Health Services Research Committee (OHSRC) Research Grants

The OHSRC aims to:

  • support research to the benefit of the patients of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the areas of:
    • clinical research
    • community / primary care research with a clear link demonstrating how this will benefit the hospitals
    • relevant laboratory studies
  • provide opportunities for research by health service workers arising out of, and closely related to, their day-to-day practice
  • wholly fund small projects or pilot studies which can be carried out within three years
  • provide opportunities for younger researchers who are in the early years of their research careers (this normally means that established researchers are very unlikely to receive an award).

The Committee's funding comes from legacies and donations to Oxford Hospitals Charity

Funds are limited and awards are made on the scientific merit of the application. Most applications will be considered up to £10,000, however any applications made for cancer research may be considered up to £20,000

The OHSRC Chair is also happy to discuss the suitability of any applications. This is currently Professor Dom Furniss.

Application forms and further details can be obtained from:

Charlotte Turner, Secretary to the OHSRC

Email: ohsrc@ndorms.ox.ac.uk

The closing date for applications is October each year.
