About oxsport@noc

Welcome to OxSport. We are an NHS funded Sports and Exercise Medicine service that was set up in 2005 in recognition of a need for a specialist service catering for exercisers and athletes of all abilities.

OxSport is aimed at everyone from child to veteran, recreational to elite. We work closely with highly specialised musculoskeletal radiologists, physiotherapists and orthopaedic colleagues to provide an efficient, unique service.

We run three adult clinics a week and a monthly child and adolescent clinic, and wehave a weekly multidisciplinary team meeting.

Our team of doctors and sports physiotherapist provides a specialist service with ultrasound, blood tests, X-ray and orthotics, often available on the day if necessary, and access to other investigations including MRI and CT if required.

OxSport's aim is to keep you exercising, whatever your age, level of fitness and injury.

We will be happy to liaise with schools, coaches, outside medical support teams to facilitate the quickest and safest return to activity.

Patient quotes

"I have been so appreciative of all the help, support and guidance that has been provided."

". . . as a GP and a sportsman I think it is essential that prompt specialist expertise is available to all those who need it whether they are a young elite athlete or like me a mid 40’s cyclist and new triathlete."

"An excellent and enthusiastically run service, which provides timely expert care."

"I was running past the NOC recently and I was thinking that you probably only hear from athletes when they're injured or suffering(!), so I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that I'm having a terrific season and my career as a professional triathlete is really taking off."

"I've won two major professional races so far this year - Ironman 70.3 Mallorca and Ironman 70.3 UK. Thank you for all of your help in the past; it has certainly helped me reach where I am today."
