Patient information

This section of the site, along with our services pages, provides information on how OCE works and what to expect as a patient, family member, friend or carer.

Our approach

All members of our team are committed to providing the best service possible to each individual patient. We adopt a holistic approach to healthcare where we focus on the patient and try to consider all aspects of importance to them instead of focusing simply on the underlying disease.

Students and trainees

The centre has a very important role in education and training. Students or trainees may sit in on consultations or treatments, although we will always get a patient's consent first. If a patient has a particular wish not to be seen by a student, then this wish is respected without any impact upon the service that they receive.

Taking part in research

The centre has an important role in furthering knowledge through research. Occassionally we may give patients information about ongoing research and ask if they would be interested in participating. This is entirely voluntary - saying "no" will not influence the level of service provided.
