NF2 Support - Nurse Practitioners

Nurse Practitioners

Nurse Practitioners are your main point of contact with the NF2 team, coordinating your care and making sure you know what is happening at every stage.

They provide a useful link between you and other health and community services, both at the hospital and at home. They are here to support you, your family and carers.

What can the Nurse Practitioners offer?

  • Information and advice about NF2 and the management of NF2.
  • Help and advice about symptoms and how to manage them.
  • A link with other staff and services involved in your care both at the hospital, at home and in the community.
  • Someone to talk to.
  • Appropriate support and help for you to communicate effectively at clinic appointments or whilst in hospital.
  • Support in accessing and completing forms to claim appropriate benefits and concessions.
  • Visits at home to support you, if appropriate.

Nurse Practitioner goals

  • For you to know what is happening to you and why.
  • For you to have the knowledge to make informed decisions about your healthcare.
  • For you to know where you can get support.
  • To help you adapt to living with NF2.
  • To prepare and support you for changes in your health.
