Work experience 2018

Work shadowing

Work shadowing is offered in clinical areas: an individual is assigned to shadow an employee undertaking their normal duties, allowing close observation of the role which for reasons of complexity, safety or security cannot be actively performed by the work experience person.

Work experience direct applications

Students may submit a request for work experience by applying directly to a department/specialty of interest with a covering letter and CV (if available).

Placements are offered at the discretion of individual departments.

Information on our ward areas/specialties and a list of consultants can be accessed via our Clinical Services section.

Students must be 16 years of age or over to be placed in a clinical area, and 18 years of age or over to attend theatres.

If you are 15 years of age you can submit a request for a placement in non-clinical areas or departments, such as administration.

How to apply for the three day programme

The programme is only available for students aged 16 to 18 years who live in the Oxfordshire area.

Application forms are now available to download at the link below: please email them back to the address on the form.
