Centres and units on the hospital site

The John Radcliffe site contains a number of buildings. The main ones are listed below. Please check carefully where you need to go so that you can choose the closest car park or bus stop.

The Children's Hospital and West Wing (including the Oxford Eye Hospital)

Children's Hospital

The Children's Hospital, which opened in 2007, is located at the foot of the hill, by the main site entrance from Headley Way.

The West Wing (including the Oxford Eye Hospital)

The West Wing shares an atrium with the Children's Hospital but has its own lifts near the reception desk.

It provides modern, high-quality and purpose-built accommodation for adult services, including:

  • neurosciences
  • specialist surgery (including the Oxford Eye Hospital)
  • critical care
  • a day surgery unit
  • operating theatres
  • University of Oxford facilities.

The Oxford Heart Centre

The Oxford Heart Centre is located half way up the hill next to the Emergency Department (A&E).

The main hospital on the John Radcliffe site is linked to the Children's Hospital and the Oxford Heart Centre on Level 2 and includes the Emergency Department (A&E) and most adult services.
