Monitoring is important to pick up any problems or changes in condition and so optimise care. In particular, we look for:

  • Response to treatment
How much inflammation is there? How does it affect wellbeing? Have other joints or parts of the body become involved?
  • New problems
These may include ones which you haven't noticed or thought much about.
  • Tissue damage
Irreversible changes as a result of persistent inflammation.
  • Side effects
Some side effects may be acceptable and others need to be picked up early. In either case, we need to be aware of them.

See how we monitor and blood test monitoring for more information.
