Children's Hospital

Bellhouse-Drayson Ward (incorporating Children's Clinical Decision Unit)

  • Visiting times: parents are welcome all the time, other visiting is very flexible, at parents'/nurses' discretion. There is space for one parent to stay overnight with their child.

  • For families of inpatients there is a CLIC house five minutes from the Children's Hospital. This can provide accommodation for up to five families. The house has a kitchen, lounge, dining room and garden which all families are welcome to use.

2A: Trauma

  • Visitors may be asked to leave the bedside for some aspects of nursing care and treatment. No more than four visitors at the bedside at any one time please. Please leave promptly at 8.30pm, as the building will lock down for security overnight. Visiting extensions can be negotiated in certain circumstances.

  • It is very helpful if telephone enquiries are made by one spokesperson only for the extended family, and if callers could avoid breakfast (7.30am - 8.30am) and supper (5.30pm - 6.30pm).

5F: Truelove Ward (Gastroenterology / hepatology)

Neonatal Unit

  • As you enter the Women's Centre on level 2, please follow signs for the Special and Intensive Care Baby Units.
  • Visiting times: there are no visiting restrictions for parents of babies nursed in the unit.
  • Visiting times for non-parents are:
    11.00am - 12.00 and 3.00pm - 4.00pm for babies in intensive care and high dependency nursery
    11.00am - 12.00, 3.00pm - 4.00pm and 8.00pm - 9.00pm for babies in special care.
  • To reduce the risk of infection, siblings are not allowed to visit in the nursery, but they may stay in the parents' sitting room if they are supervised by an adult. Other people's children are not allowed on the unit. The unit also provides a flat for parents and their baby to use just prior to discharge.
