The Young People's Executive (known as YiPpEe for short), is a group of young people who work and meet with staff in the hospital, giving their thoughts about things in hospital.

YiPpEe helps us to understand what young people in hospital want and need.

YiPpEe members are young people aged 12 to 18 who have either been in hospital themselves, or have a relative or friend who has been in hospital, so all have some idea what it is like.

Some of the projects that YiPpEe has been involved in are:
  • creating an information booklet for children and young people in hospital called Young Voices. The booklet includes personal stories of patients, information about the hospital and staff, games, jokes, children's rights and a page for siblings
  • reviewing food quality and developing menus
  • discussing the importance of privacy and dignity for children and young people
  • developing methods to hear and respond to children and young people's thoughts
