Oxford Human Milk Bank

All breastfeeding women also have the opportunity to donate to the Oxford Human Milk Bank.

This is located in the Neonatal Unit and is affiliated to the national milk banking association, UKAMB (www.ukamb.org).

The milk bank provides human milk to babies in the Special Care Baby Unit (if mothers are temporarily unable to meet their babies' needs).

If you think you might be able to donate, please download the form below.

If you would like to donate either as a one-off donation, or as an ongoing donor, you will need to be blood tested for:

  • Hep B surface antigen
  • Hep C antibody
  • HIV antibody
  • Syphilis antibody
  • HTLV antibody

otherwise we will be unable to accept you as a donor.

As this would be routine screening (as with blood donors) no declaration is necessary on insurance forms.
