Matron takes on Great Wall of China for UK Sepsis Trust

OUH Neurosciences Matron Lucy Parsons is trekking on the Great Wall of China for the UK Sepsis Trust.

She sets off on World Sepsis Day, 13 September 2018, and will be trekking 5-8 hours a day for eight days, alongside others who have survived sepsis, or whose families have been touched by sepsis.

Lucy and her family know just how essential it is to recognise sepsis early, so that life-saving treatment can be provided. Her own daughter survived sepsis in 2014, due to the excellent care provided by her local GP surgery, and the John Radcliffe Hospital's Emergency Department and Children's Intensive Care Unit.

The UK Sepsis Trust urgently needs funding to train the public and to educate the healthcare community on how to spot sepsis quickly.

Lucy is doing all she can to promote the work of this charity and support their campaign to save lives by encouraging us all to ask:

'Could it be sepsis?'
