Consultant Transplant Surgeon, Georgios Vrakas, and Gillian Roberts, a University of Oxford colleague also based at Oxford Transplant Centre, have returned to Oxford after successfully climbing Kilimanjaro.

They were part of a group of around 40 people making this climb in aid of the Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF).

The group hoped to claim a record for the highest ever recorded football match in the crater at the top (sponsored by the organisation You Are The Ref), but unfortunately bad weather at the top of the mountain prevented the match taking place on safety grounds.

Nevertheless they are extremely proud of their achievement of reaching Uhuru Peak and will continue fundraising to achieve their £10,000 target until December 2017.
