Oxford Radiotherapy has turned in an impressive performance in the Radiotherapy UK second #Miles4Radiotherapy challenge!

The event ran over three months from 1 July until midnight on 2 October 2022, and participants raised much needed funds for Radiotherapy UK by paying £20 to register, getting active - in a multitude of ways such as running, cycling and swimming - getting sponsored, and entering the distances they covered to keep track of their achievements.

Oxford Radiotherapy came an impressive second place out of 38 teams from all over the UK, with their 41-strong team clocking up a staggering 25,402km - an average of nearly 7km per participant per day - and worthy runners-up to the Northern Centre for Cancer Care.

To add to our success, Oxford Radiotherapy Physicist Andy Buckle made the top three out of all the individuals who entered, covering a huge 3,921km and coming second only to the Christie Charity's Elizabeth Reeves.

The challenge is a great contribution to our Radiotherapy department's wellbeing initiative, promoting exercise, teamwork and togetherness.

Congratulations to all of the participants, and to our very own Oxford team for their engagement and community spirit.
