Get health advice quickly via your smart phone over the new year holiday

31/12/2019
This article is more than four years old.

111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally, via a smart phone, laptop or tablet.

Both 111 online and the 111 phone service provide patients with a convenient way to get the right help or advice for an urgent but non-life-threatening health concern.

People who visit 111.nhs.uk enter their age, gender, postcode and main symptom and are then asked a series of questions about their health problem.

They can:

  • find out how to get the right healthcare in their area, including whether they need to see a GP or seek urgent care
  • get advice on self-care
  • in most areas, get a call back from a nurse, doctor or other trained health professional if they need it.

People can still contact NHS 111 and speak to fully trained advisors who can arrange for patients to speak to relevant healthcare professionals, if required.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
