Students studying healthcare and social work at Oxford Brookes University have praised staff from OUH in the Placement of the Year Awards 2019.

This annual awards scheme, which is run by Oxford Brookes University Practice Education Unit, celebrates excellent placements and learning environments provided by health and social care providers.

Students nominate the health and social care placement providers who have given them an outstanding placement experience, using criteria such as quality of care, learning opportunities and student support.

Kate Walkey, Learning Environment Lead in the Practice Development and Education Team at OUH, said: "It was lovely to see the outstanding feedback from students about their learning experiences within our organisation. The volume of nominations and feedback from learners was inspiring. Congratulations go to all the OUH nominees, those who were highly commended and our winners."

Sarah Khan, Acting Head of Practice Education at Oxford Brookes, said: "Students are increasingly keen to nominate those placement areas which have provided an excellent overall learning experience in practice. The Placement of the Year Awards annual event showcases this opportunity and allows all involved to celebrate their successes."

OUH winners in the Placement of the Year Awards were:

Adult and Mental Health Nursing
CNS Acute Pain, Orthopaedics, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre

Midwifery
