Radio Horton trailer break-in: appeal for information

Radio Horton is appealing for information after its outside broadcast vehicles were broken into, resulting in theft and damage to valuable equipment.

The hospital radio station is run by volunteers, and has been broadcasting to patients at the Horton General Hospital for over 54 years.

The Trustees were alerted to the disturbance at the Banbury Twenty Cricket Club on Ermont Way on Thursday 23 August 2018.

It is believed the incident occurred sometime between Wednesday 22 August and Thursday 23 August.

Thieves forced their way into the Radio Horton vehicle, damaging the locks and doors, and stealing equipment including a petrol generator and laptops.

Other equipment was left out in the open and sustained damage as a result.

Radio Horton Chairman, Anthony Brown, said: "Obviously, this has been a very shocking and distressful situation for all of us. As a charitable organisation and hospital radio station, Radio Horton has always relied upon the loyalty and kindness of the Banbury community for its continued support and fundraising.

"We would urge anybody who may have witnessed anything out of the ordinary near the Cricket Club on Ermont Way, Banbury around the 22 and 23 August, or who may be offered a generator, second hand laptops or audio/broadcast equipment, to come forward and contact the police."
