Help to celebrate great care at the Horton

This article is more than six years old.

Have you or a loved one received fantastic care or treatment at the Horton General Hospital in the past year? Then why not nominate the doctors, nurses and other hospital staff who gave you that outstanding care for a special award?

Nominations have opened for this year's Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) NHS Foundation Trust Patients' Choice Award. It is a chance for patients to highlight members of staff who have delivered exceptional care at the Horton or one of the other OUH hospitals: the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.

"We launched the Patients' Choice Award last year and were delighted to receive so many remarkable and touching stories about how our staff have gone above and beyond what is expected of them to deliver exceptional care," said the Trust's Chief Executive, Dr Bruno Holthof.

"It was confirmation, if it were needed, of the outstanding compassion, courage and dedication shown by OUH staff. What makes this award so special is it is the people we serve - the patients and their families - who are having their say."

Patients and their families can nominate a member of staff or a team at www.ouh.nhs.uk/patientschoice

Nominations will remain open until 17 September 2017.

An independent panel of patients will select the overall winners, who will receive their award at the Trust's annual Staff Recognition Awards event on 6 December 2017 at Oxford Town Hall.

"If a doctor, nurse, support worker or ward team have gone the extra mile in treating you or a loved one, or if they have given you outstanding care, this is your chance to make sure it doesn't go unnoticed," Dr Holthof added.
