Feasibility and metric reporting

It is a condition of the approval of the research that the research team is ready to approach potential participants as soon as Trust approval is given.

Research teams for all interventional research should discuss with R&D, before submission of their SSI their preparedness to conduct research, i.e. have appropriate site initiation visits planned and ensure that sponsors are ready to give the green light as soon as Trust approval is given.

If there are issues that are likely to hold up initiation of research, R&D may be able to help resolve those issues.

It is a condition of ongoing Trust approval that the study team reports to the R&D team on a quarterly basis on study progress.

The Trust reports to the NIHR quarterly on the progress research in particular:

  1. The initiation of research
Time take to recruit the first participant after receipt of the valid research application (against a national benchmark of 70 days)
  2. The delivery of commercially sponsored and funded research
    Recruiting to time and target

Results are published on the Trust website.
