The Department of Acute General Medicine and Geratology provides Emergency and Acute Medical Care for private patients on Bedford Ward, on Level 4 at the main John Radcliffe Hospital.

Specialist expertise includes:

as well as the full breadth of Acute Medical Specialties.

Our facilities are all available at the John Radcliffe Hospital site within the new Oxford Heart Centre development and the Horton General Hospital, based in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

The Oxford Heart Centre is part of the prestigious and internationally renowned Oxford University Hospitals; this means that you will have access to the most up-to-date treatments and cutting-edge technology that healthcare has to offer.

The Oxford Heart Centre opened in 2009, and received awards for its design. Within it we provide large single rooms, all with en-suite bathroom, TV and WiFi access. We can also provide facilities for relatives and carers to stay where necessary.
