Colposcopy

Welcome to the OUH Private Healthcare Colposcopy website.

Colposcopy is a method to examine the cervix (neck of the womb) using a microscope. It is used for diagnosis and treatment of diseases involving the vulva, vagina, cervix and vault (after hysterectomy) and anogenital skin.

Colposcopy is mainly utilised to investigate abnormal smear (cervical cytology) results and helps the clinician to decide if a woman needs treatment or a change to her follow-up interval.

Our private Colposcopy Service is dedicated to providing individual treatment in a professional and caring manner. Our experts are renowned consultant gynaecologists with specialist accreditation as colposcopists.
