Information about referrals for professionals and patients

Written referrals can be made by GPs or community AHPs direct to the service:

Patients may also be triaged to us via the MSK Hub.

OUH consultants and AHPs: the internal referral form can be found on the Orthotics Service pages of the OUH intranet site.

Community podiatrists

Existing patients who have been seen in the past three years can self-refer back to the orthotics service via telephone.

If an patient has not been seen in the past three years then they will need to be re-referred by their GP.

Please note that referrals for the following conditions may not be suitable for orthotic treatment:

  • curly toes
  • assymptomatic flexible flatfeet
  • intoeing
