Amanda qualified as a physiotherapist in 2003 (London).

Amanda worked in clinical research before training to become a physiotherapist. Following her general rotations she worked in musculoskeletal outpatients in central London hospitals. During this period she developed an interest in treating patients with long term pain conditions and helped run Functional Restoration Programmes. She then worked for 5 years at a specialist pain management centre as part of a multidisciplinary team conducting group pain management programmes. Amanda spent two years in the Chronic Fatigue Service within Oxford University Hospitals before being appointed to her current post in 2014.

Her postgraduate training includes musculoskeletal neurodynamic examination and treatment techniques, Western acupuncture and courses in motivational interviewing, sleep management, cognitive behavioural therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy. Amanda has also taught undergraduate Physiotherapy students.

Amanda was awarded an MSc in Pain: Science and Society in 2011 and is a member of the Physiotherapy Pain Association.
