Specialty: Hip and knee surgery

Special interests: Primary total hip replacement including hip resurfacing, primary knee replacement including unicompartmental arthroplasty and revision hip and knee surgery.

Mr Taylor graduated from St Bartholomew's Hospital, London and did his postgraduate training in Bristol. He undertook a one-year fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty in Perth, Australia. The fellowship had a strong emphasis in computer navigated surgery. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association. After returning to Bristol as a consultant he has since taken up a consultant appointment based at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. He also undertakes NHS clinics in Bicester and Abingdon.

Mr Taylor has wide experience of hip and knee joint replacements, both primary and revision procedures, together with arthroscopic surgery of the knee. He is experienced in metal on metal hip resurfacing, ceramic on ceramic hip replacement and minimally invasive Oxford partial knee replacement. He is developing a special interest in revision joint replacement for the treatment of infection, prosthetic loosening and fracture.

He is involved in both local undergraduate and national postgraduate educational programmes and has been invited to lecture on these.
