Achievements

The success of the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre Appeal has contributed to a major redevelopment programme, which started in 1995.

Hydrotherapy poolThe Appeal has provided:

  • In 1995 the Tebbit Centre (£1.5m)
  • In 2002 the Botnar Research Centre (£4.5m)
  • In 2004 a new Hydrotherapy Pool (£750,000)
  • In 2006 £3000,000 towards a second MRI Scanner building
  • £6m for a new children's ward and 2 adult wards completed in 2007
  • £50,000 for a Sports Injury Service
  • £1m for research
  • £6.8m for Phase 2 of the Botnar Research Centre
  • £100,000 for art in the hospital which has supported a Heritage Mural and Sunflowers
  • £100,000 for the children's outpatient department
  • Video equipment, gait laboratory camera and a PALS office

The new Sports Injury Service will treat a larger number of patients than the number currently seen at the NOC. The hospital expects this service would become the premier sports medicine service in Oxfordshire and the surroundings areas. 'We are pleased to be support this service to help patients.'
